At the beginning of the green revolution pest control in agriculture was remarkable, however over time there was selection of insects resistant to insecticides, chemical pest control had a deleterious effect throughout the ecosystem chain as its efficiency decreased and its costs exceeded levels Economic and social conditions.

Today we are looking for a balance in agro-systems from the sustainable point of view, the knowledge of methods of diagnosis involving population dynamics and the epidemiology in various crops, it is possible to predict pests and to control them.

It is of great interest to control pests of lower impact in biological systems, and in this context botanical insecticides resulting from secondary metabolites can be cited as a model for structural synthesis of pesticides more efficient, less toxic and less persistent in the environment.

The resistance of insects to these substances composed of several active principles is slow, and their principles can cause effects of repellency, inhibition of oviposition, feeding, and hormonal alteration and metabolism, deformation and mortality in phases of the life cycle.

Culture of economic importance should be considered
In view of the above, one must consider the biological resources of the Amazon as a source of bioactives, be they genes, enzymes, proteins or biological parts of living beings.

The Amazon is an unrivaled source of vegetation and its endophytic interactions, bioprospecting research is an opportunity for the extraction of metabolites of industrial and commercial interest, and its conservation and appreciation of biodiversity is important for continued research.

I am looking for researchers, international students or people who are interested in setting up a blog and study group on pest and disease control in agriculture, study of metabolic substances of medicinal plants, and bioactive for use in medicine, cosmetics and other subjects With this knowledge it is possible to create a product and perhaps put it on the market.

Key words: Bio-insecticide, Secondary metabolism, biological control of insects
